Blocking shot is the very important aspect of the game you have to pay attention. To block a jump shooter is very hard to do but if you dont do it he is going to hit the shot. But you put a hand up it makes it harder for the offensive player to shoor it simply distracts him which cause a missed shot and defensive stop. Blocking someone down in the paint is much easier but there are several thing that you have to do. First off the offensive player so little room to operate with so he doesnt have much thing to do. It is very important to attemp a block at the moment he attemps a shot. If your player has a good blocking ability the other player better start praying. Dont body to body because it makes it more difficult to block a shot because the player has no room to use his arms. Most NBA players have long arms so they need a foot or two from the offensive player to make a successful block.
